Thermal tape to exhaust
The thermal bands keep most hot exhaust gases, they are discharged more quickly, which theoretically allows a performance gain. Originally used in the world of motorsport
Withstands temperatures equal to 1000 ° C (up to 1400 ° C peak heating)
After the first engine start the band will smoke for 30 to 40 minutes. This is normal, there is no risk of fire.
The standard thermal tape may be wet for ease of installation, but this is not mandatory. The graphite tape or copper should not be wet.
The strips are fixed simply with a stainless steel clamp. They will take a long time as long as there is no friction (kick, frame ...). If the exhaust pipes are close to each other, we recommend rotating the tape around all the tubes and not each tube individually because the friction would wear very quickly the band.
